BMI’s Collection Services Representatives are responsible for collecting music licensing fees according to the payment terms in each customer license agreement. Successful Collection Services Representatives use their collection and customer service skills to facilitate fee-dispute resolution through communicating with hundreds of BMI’s customers via the telephone, email, and postal mail each week to achieve or exceed established goals


Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.


  • College degree preferred
  • Two years of collections/customer service experience preferred 
  • One year of experience in a call center environment preferred

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with good judgment
  • Working knowledge of MS 365 and can quickly adapt to new technology
  • A strong focus on exemplary attendance is required

  • Effectively and efficiently handles a high volume of customer contacts and inquiries via telephone, email, and postal mail
  • Resolves customer disputes and collects payments related to accounts with past due music license fees
  • Effectively communicates BMI’s policies and procedures to internal and external customers as it relates to the resolution of customer balances due
  • Accurately updates database records
  • Identifies problems and escalates them to management.
  • Works on special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary Range

The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
