Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY 

BMI's Collection Services Representatives are responsible for collecting music licensing fees according to the payment terms in each customer license agreement. Successful Collection Services
Representatives use their collection and customer service skills to communicate with hundreds of BMI’s customers via telephone, email, and postal mail each week to achieve or exceed established call and cash goals.


LOCATION

Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree preferred.
  • Two years of collections/customer service experience preferred.
  • One year of experience in a call center environment preferred.

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with good judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Salesforce, MS 365 and can quickly adapt to new technology.
  • A strong focus on meeting goals and regular attendance.

Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
 

  • Effectively and efficiently makes a high volume of outbound customer contacts via telephone, email, and postal mail.
  • Collects payment of past due music license fees, arranges payment plans within established guidelines and reconciles customer accounts.
  • Sends past due invoices and other documents necessary in the customer service/collections process to facilitate payment.
  • Advances delinquent accounts through collection process until exhausted.
  • Accurately updates database about customer contact and collection efforts.
  • Identifies and resolves problems or escalates them to management.
  • Resolve customer disputes.
  • Supports BMI’s Core Values and cultivates a culture of diversity and inclusion.
  • Works on special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

SALARY RANGE

The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
