Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates and processes work in both the mail room and the printing shop.

  • Operates and maintains BMI’s production digital and MICR toner printers.
  • Operates and maintains Neopost and KAS inserters.
  • Performs document manipulation with digital and hard copy files using Adobe Acrobat, Fiery software, Photoshop, Microsoft Applications, and InDesign.
  • Evaluates and adjusts image qualities as required or needed.
  • Operates and maintains all finishing equipment.
  • Coordinates with the internal customers to develop, produce and prioritize jobs. Also, adjusts deadlines as needed to ensure our “print on demand” environment is achieved.
  • Monitors and manages inventory of supplies for Document Services.
  • Assists with packing, mailings, etc. as needed.
  • Performs quality audits for all printing jobs.
  • Works with vendors to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with all department equipment.
  • Printing and finishing of all BMI and BMI related applications and documents.
  • Consults with inside and outside designers/departments.
  • Delivery of all applications and documents.
  • Inventory of all BMI and BMI related applications and documents.
  • Ability to create custom variable data print requests.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Regular attendance.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance functions of this job.
  • Sitting, talking, hearing, walking.
  • Concentrated mental and visual attention with normal hand-eye coordination.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches; corrected or uncorrected.
  • Generally negligible physical effort, but occasional moving of 1 to 50 lb. items.
  • Must be able to work overtime.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is the environment is usually moderate.


Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Minimum three (3) years-experience in a digital print production environment.
  • Familiar with Mail Center Operations process.
  • Experience using inserters, folding equipment, printers, and mailroom equipment.
  • Experience tracking and dealing with express couriers.
  • Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with co-workers and personnel in other departments.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse employee population, and with all levels of staff and management.
  • Able to work independently and with good judgment.
  • Maintain flexibility in a changing, fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage details.
