POSITION SUMMARY: Lead and evolve the Creative Data Analytics function by providing direction and thought leadership on applying advanced analytic methods using internal and external data to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to address business problems or deliver insights and/or recommendations that inform various business needs or strategies.
LOCATION: Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Develops & evolves a center of excellence for data, reporting and analytics across Creative services.
- Develops and maintains the Financial Analytics and Business Intelligence strategy and roadmap for the Creative Team.
- Provides financial and data analysis, consultation and/or support to BMI executives on forecasting of affiliate advances.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of available data within the organization and serves as a central point of access to data and data analysis for internal and external stakeholders. Identifies opportunities to leverage data in new ways to meet strategic objectives.
- Maintains awareness of applications being used to access data across the organization; creates best practices to new or less skilled users to standardize procedures and work products.
- Recognizes the strengths and weaknesses of various data sources; partners with business owners to recommend utilization of specific data sources that most effectively capture desired information.
- Partners with Distribution & Administration services to align on processes and best practices.
- Participates with Creative executives in escalated calls with BMI affiliates, business managers and other stakeholders on resolving complex inquiries.
- Supports discussions and communications with BMI Clients as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required with emphasis in Finance, Economics, or similar discipline preferred. Graduate Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum seven (7) years with related experience and/or a combination of the required technical skills listed below:
- Financial modeling
- Strong experience with data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data environments)
- ANSII SQL experience
- Working experience with various BI Reporting Tools
- Understanding of BI and Data Warehouse Database Concepts.
- Strong understanding of statistics, finance and mathematics.
- Management experience preferred.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in analysis, preparation and presentation of data required.
- Demonstrated ability to explore and quickly grasp technologies, financial data models and business processes.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Excel and Access.
- Familiarity with music industry preferred.

Salary Range:
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
