Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for continued enhancement and support of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and other applications used by the accounting team. Blends business, accounting, and technical knowledge to ensure that those applications are configured and leveraged to BMI’s best advantage. Works with both business and technical teams to track issues, enhancement requests, projects and related deliverables, training needs, and to coordinate and conduct testing. Requires an understanding of business opportunities and issues in the context of functional and technical requirements, and proactively seeks opportunities to improve business processes and leverage standard application functionality.

LOCATION: Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week.  Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Understand and modify EBS application configuration as required, including application setups, key and descriptive flex-fields, responsibilities, menus, etc.
  • Assist with security, access control, and system privileges within EBS.
  • Lead functional acceptance testing of EBS . patching, upgrade, and maintenance activities
  • Coordinate functional and system issue resolution, working with business and technical teams to prioritize and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Use query tools such as TOAD, SQL*Developer, or MS Access to research issues with minimal guidance from technical staff
  • Log Service Requests and interact with Oracle Support
  • Proactively review existing application use, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies for leveraging application functionality more effectively
  • Provide end-user instruction and training to improve user experience with Oracle applications
  • Create and assist others in creating user and system documentation, including procedures, instructions, test scenarios, and scripts
  • Lead user sessions for functional requirements gathering in the development of reports, interfaces customizations, and enhancements/extensions
  • Lead gap analysis to create / maintain functional requirements for new or modified business processes
  • Ensure that functional requirements are structured and documented against best practices so deployment results in enhanced user productivity and experience, and business case objectives are met
  • Actively keep knowledge and expertise current with new Oracle releases and technology advances, and analyze potential opportunities and risks in adopting upcoming versions of software
  • Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the functional teams

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Emphasis in Business (Accounting/Finance/Economics) or Information Technology is a plus
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in functional accounting roles (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, etc.)
  • 3-5 years knowledge of /experience with Oracle EBS Financial and Procurement modules (GL, XLA, AR, AP, OIE, IBY, CM, FA, PO, ICX) or similar modules of equivalent ERP systems, with preference given to Oracle EBS experience
Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature and technical procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, internal and external customers in verbal and written form
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Proficiency with query tools (TOAD, SQL*Plus, SQL*Developer, Microsoft Access, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team environment focused on quality and customer service
  • Ability to establish and foster good working relationships and interact competently with others at all levels of management
  • Excellent time management, analytical, decision making and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate work to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
