POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring that technology solutions and products align with the organizational vision and marketplace needs. Collaborates across the business and/or with external parties to continually assess current business needs, new or evolving business opportunities, as well as, other pertinent information to ensure that all related products are mature and align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
LOCATION
Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Works with the functional leadership team to ensure that the vision for technology solutions are clearly stated or updated.
- Collaborates with team members across Distribution & Administration Services to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product features and capabilities.
- Maintains and updates high-level documentation of the business products that is foundational in building or evolving technology solutions.
- Performs functional testing, investigating, and provides feedback issues to Developers.
- Ensures that testing is appropriately documented with evidence recorded.
- Distills customer business problems into user stories that are consumable by development team.
- Formulates software specifications that implement the behaviors described by the Project features and User Stories
- Directs the team in developing the product backlog by comprehending the goal, organizing the stories, and making sure a complete description of the solution is provided.
- Contributes to the product roadmap that captures and prioritizes the necessary product features in a timeline for delivery.
- Supports business cases for new products, features, or customization work for existing solutions to ensure that the cost of development can be justified.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders in various project milestones, including data migration, feature enhancements, user story creation, user acceptance testing and training.
- Acts as a Liaison with the Information Technology team and end-users to deliver updates.
- Supports activities around change management and product deployment using best practices and disciplines (e.g. SCRUM, Agile).
- Participates in relevant technical and system re-engineering projects.
- Serves on special projects as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises departmental team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, directing and ensuring reliability of work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree required in business, computer science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the music industry, specifically in copyright, royalties, and customer service or experience of supporting complex change and/or multi-disciplinary projects and a track record of delivery. Experience with Azure Dev Ops, JIRA, or other agile work management solutions.

SALARY RANGE
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
