Service Desk Technician I
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides entry level support for Dell, Microsoft and Apple hardware, Windows and MacOS, various software and mobile device issues. Works directly with end users, both in-person and remotely. Handles “first call resolution” to resolve issues quickly or dispatches to the appropriate team.
LOCATION
Nashville, TN office. This position is primarily remote, however, there will be times when team members will be required to be in the BMI office, based on the requirements of their role.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Provides excellent customer service while assisting BMI team members (our customers) with technology issues or requests.
- Identifies and initiates resolutions to customer issues and concerns associated with technology equipment including the following:
- Physical workstations
- Dell desktops and laptops
- Microsoft laptops
- Apple desktops and laptops
- Windows virtual workstations
- Operating Systems
- Windows
- MacOS
- Mobile Devices
- Smartphones
- Tablets
- Workstation peripherals including (but not limited to):
- Input devices (keyboards, mice, etc)
- Local printers
- Enterprise multi-function printers
- Paper jams
- Engage service provider as needed for additional maintenance
- Plans and coordinates the installation of software per department standards and procedures.
- Maintains software and hardware to provide manual upgrades as necessary. Ensures appropriate security levels are maintained.
- Upholds the enterprise policy guidelines, as well as recommends new and improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service to enterprise users of personal computers.
- Maintains current technical expertise in the rapidly changing technology of microcomputers and utilizes state-of-the-art techniques when implementing office automation solutions.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all enterprise departments to optimize working relationships and communication.
- Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Two years providing hardware/software technical support in a corporate environment
- Two years supporting client workstation hardware
- Two years supporting enterprise level multi-function printers
- Two years supporting Windows OS in a corporate environment
- Two years supporting MacOS in a corporate environment
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Proficiency in installing and supporting various types of PC software, hardware and peripherals.
- Familiarity with network topology and the ability to discern networking issues when troubleshooting reported issues.
- Strong communication skills written, verbal, comprehension.
- Strong customer service skills.

SALARY RANGE
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
