Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst

Broadcast Music, Inc. Nashville, TN (Onsite) Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY
Collaborate and influence management, application developers, and business operating groups to develop test plans and acceptance criteria for all new software development. Responsible for expertise in the development & execution of automated and manual test cases for acceptance testing in compliance with the company’s agile standards.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Provides technical leadership on all assigned projects to ensure delivery of valuable solutions in alignment with BMI’s business needs, automation platform architecture, and overall SDLC. This includes understanding business requirements, adhering to QA best practices and standards, recommending technical direction, monitoring testing efforts, resolving technical issues, making technical decisions, and supporting deployment of the product.
  • Demonstrate expertise and leadership in developing, coordinating and executing detailed QA and UAT test plans/data/cases for user acceptance testing based on the company’s agile methodology standards.
  • Develop and maintain automation testing.
  • Define and maintain testing standards and methodologies.
  • Maintain the TST/QA environment in conjunction with the company’s Infrastructure resources.
  • Participate, and lead, in all aspects of the company’s software development methodology: define, develop, and deploy.
  • Prepare training materials, conduct user training, and maintain system documentation.
  • Provide regular verbal and written status reports to management.
  • Participate in multiple, concurrent projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Participate in technical logic and design discussions.
  • Create, maintain, and present technical documentation for/to various audiences.
  • Coordinate application bug tracking system and process.
  • Ensure the completeness of all required documentation.
  • Review applications for adherence to business requirements.
  • Perform other related job duties as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 
 

   Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or Math) or equivalent industry experience.
   Experience: Seven plus (7+) years experience analyzing, documenting, and testing application requirements based complex business, technical, and operational needs. Scrum is especially preferred.

   
SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

   This may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this assignment.

  • Experience with Automated Testing in UFT or similar tool.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Change Control Processes.
  • Proficient using MS Visio or similar software.
  • Excellent understanding of flowcharting, unit testing, entity relationships, schema analysis, definition & documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent understanding of and hands-on experience with design and development best practices.
  • Familiarity with user operating systems and web browsers.
  • Detail orientation and strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a self-motivated, team player who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration and open communication.
  • Expertise in unit testing, documentation and troubleshooting.
  • Thrives working as a team, facilitating collaboration, and encouraging open communication.
  • Proven ability to work independently under aggressive deadlines and meet project commitments.
  • Proficiency writing SQL.
  • Understanding of design and development best practices.
  • Positive, pro-active and professional attitude.
  • Available for occasional overtime and weekend work.
  •  Knowledge of data management practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the music industry is a plus.
  • Awareness of industry and technology trends is a plus.

SALARY RANGE 
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
