About the Role
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Program Manager, IT (Sr. PgMo) leads complex, high-impact technology programs spanning multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and strategic priorities, often operating in environments characterized by ambiguity, interdependence, and competing demands. This role is accountable for end-to-end program outcomes, driving execution rigor while anticipating risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs that could impact delivery, timelines, or strategic objectives.
Operating as a senior individual contributor within the Technology Program Management Office (PgMO), the Sr. PgMo partners closely with Technology leadership, Product, Operations, UX, and business stakeholders to align strategy and execution. The role translates complex program data into clear, decision-ready insights and recommendations, improving transparency, momentum, and the quality of decision making at senior levels.
The Senior Program Manager, IT influences alignment and outcomes without direct authority by establishing credibility, building strong cross-functional relationships, and applying disciplined program management practices. In addition to owning program execution, this role contributes to PgMO effectiveness by reinforcing governance standards, improving delivery practices, and serving as a model for execution excellence across the portfolio.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Primary Responsibilities
- Owns end-to-end delivery of large, complex, and high-impact technology programs, coordinating multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and interdependent initiatives to achieve defined strategic outcomes.
- Leads cross-functional teams through ambiguity and competing priorities, providing structure, direction, and execution rigor to drive progress and maintain accountability.
- Anticipates, assesses, and manages program-level risks, dependencies, assumptions, and tradeoffs, balancing competing priorities and driving proactive mitigation strategies to protect delivery outcomes.
- Synthesizes complex program data, risks, and progress into clear, executive-level insights, recommendations, and options that support timely, informed decision making.
- Builds strong, trust-based relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to influence alignment, priorities, and outcomes without direct authority.
- Prepares and delivers executive-ready program materials, including status updates, milestones, and decision points, ensuring transparency and clarity at senior leadership levels.
- Ensures consistent alignment with PgMO governance, standards, tools, and execution practices, reinforcing delivery discipline and operational rigor across programs.
- Drives disciplined execution by removing obstacles, enabling timely decisions, and exercising sound judgment in complex or fast-moving environments.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of PgMO practices by identifying opportunities to strengthen planning, execution, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, and incorporating feedback and lessons learned into future work.

- Maintains regular in-office attendance in accordance with BMI workplace policies. Specific scheduling expectations may be discussed during the interview process.

- Limited travel may be required, estimated at approximately 10% or less.

- Extended hours beyond 40 as needed.
- Limited travel may be required (~10%).

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, technology, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and significant relevant professional experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs or initiatives, with increasing accountability for end-to-end delivery, preferably within technology, media, or similarly matrixed organizational environments.
- Experience driving large-scale, cross-functional delivery efforts such as enterprise transformation initiatives, platform modernization programs, or multi-workstream technology implementations, preferred.

- Advanced ability to lead and manage complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, interdependent workstreams, and high levels of ambiguity.
- Demonstrated success influencing outcomes, driving alignment, and enabling decision making without direct authority through credibility, structured thinking, and strong relationships.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish and sustain effective partnerships with internal stakeholders at all organizational levels in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Experience engaging with and leading external parties, including vendors, consultants, and strategic partners, to support coordinated program execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively across technical, business, and executive audiences.
- Exceptional ability to synthesize complex information into clear, decision-ready insights, recommendations, and options tailored to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated judgment in balancing speed, quality, risk, and tradeoffs when making execution, sequencing, and prioritization recommendations in complex environments.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative skills applied to program planning, execution, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Proven track record of effective execution and operational follow-through while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with advanced expertise in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
